Must See Driving from the Bay Area to Denver, I stopped in Moab for the evening. Right before Moab, I saw the entrance to Arches National Park and just went in to see what there was. This place is cool. You drive up a steep mountain into another world. How it got this way I do not know but there are gigantic slabs of rock that are walls. They are jagged and often resemble walls of castles. Some have holes bored into them by water, I guess, to form the arches that the park is named for.
Favorite Activity You have got to drive the Arches road as far as you can go. More things to see than you can believe. Even rocks plopped on top of one another that you must think will fall over soon. I drove up a side road #128, on the way back to the Interstate. Wow, it goes by the river and for about 5 miles, the scenery cant be beat.
Restaurant Recommendation Had dinner at Moab Brewery, beer was good and the chicken sandwich was OK.
Lodging Recommendation

I stayed at the Super 8 Motel in Moab. Cheap but very nice. Their breakfast was nothing so I ate at Denny's next door for breakfast.
