Canyonlands National Park

Canyonlands is distinctive variation on the Grand Canyon.  The Colorado River has cut its way through the sandstone in both places.  However, Canyonlands has a number of distinct areas.  Many visit the Island in the Sky area but miss the remarkable Needles district.  You will find Elephant Hill there and the kids will be excited viewing it.  This park is at the end of Utah Route 211 that branches off US 191.  You can also access the park closer to Moab UT using Route 313.
