Cedar Breaks National Monument 

Cedar Breaks preserves thousands of feet of picturesque hoodoos that lie along the western slope of the Colorado plateau.    The Monument reaches 10,000 feet so the it closes each winter.    If you can spend the night,  gaze into the darkness and enjoy the view of the Milky Way and the boundless stars of the heavens.   Cedar Breaks is located east of Cedar City UT off of Interstate 15.  Follow Utah route 14 into the mountains.  You can see parts of Monument from this road.   Take Utah route 148 to the crest of Cedars Break.
