Convict Lake is a WOW in capital letters.   The area is announced with the splendor of multi-colored mountains.   The setting  nestles a lake in an environmental exhibition.   You will be hooked like the fish that swim in the lake.   To get to Convict Like travel north on US 395 past Bishop watch for the Convict Lake exit sign.

Convict Lake has very few services however there are many motels and restaurants at Mammoth Lakes which is just north of Convict Lake.  We recommend staying at the Mammoth Mountain Ski Hotel.  If you are inclined toward camping, one of the most beautiful sites that you can find is at Twin Lakes which is just west of Mammoth.  For dinner, we recommend eating at Petra's.
