Death Valley National Park

Death Valley is located at the Nevada / California border. Sounds ominous but Death Valley is a wondrous place that plunges hundreds of feet below sea level at Bad Water. The best time to visit is in the Spring when the flowers bloom.  Don't let places like Hell's Gate, Furnace Creek and Devil’s Golf Course scare you off. The place is gorgeous. Be sure to visit Artist’s Drive and Badwater. Take the side trip up to Dante's View off the road to Furnace Creek. Partake the outstanding vista and great scenery. About 20 miles prior to reaching Furnace Creek is a one way dirt road labeled Twenty Mule Team Canyon.  The road is well worth the trip. Although this one way road is dirt, it is very well maintained and any auto can drive it. Travel to Death Valley from US 395  using California route 190.

There are several hotels with in Death Valley.  We recommend Furnace Ranch near the park headquarters.  There is also fine dinning at the hotel.
