Glacier Point
Yosemite National Park
Glacier
point provides you with a vista that is 4000
ft above Yosemite valley. From the point,
you will have an overview of Yosemite Falls and Half
Dome. Additionally, you can look into the expanse
of the High Sierras including the Merced River
Valley with its magnificent Nevada and Vernal
water falls. There are also many walks
to more view points from along this road. I
would encourage any hikers to trek the Panorama Trail
from Glacier Point to Illilouette Falls, then to Nevada
Falls, from there going down the Mist Trail past Vernal
Falls to Happy Isles in the Valley. To accessed
Glacier Point, take CA 41 south of Yosemite Valley
then turn off CA 41 at Glacier Point Rd and
travel to the road's end. Along the way, make sure
to stop at Washburn Point. By continuing south
along CA 41, you will arrive at the Mariposa Sequoia
Grove where you can view the giant trees that are
thousands of years old.
