Kolob Branch of Zion National Park
Kolob Canyon is an arm of
Zion National Park that is often missed by those who
visit the main part of Zion. Kolob has a 5 mile scenic
drive through a narrow canyon to the crest of the
mountain. Sheer cliffs with hanging gardens greet the
visitor. From the crest, you can see the top of the
Colorado Plateau. There is a small visitor center
at Kolob but often rangers are not available. There are
no facilities so visitors should bring a lunch or plan
on stopping in St George or Cedar City for lunch. To
reach Kolob Canyon of Zion National Park, take I15 to
exit 40 between the cities of St George and Cedar
City. The exit sign announces Kolob
Canyon.
