Mount Lemmon

Mount Lemmon is a play area for Tucson residents. The mountain road is part of the Coronado National Forest which includes the Sabino Canyon Area. The mountain road that leads to the summit is picturesque. You drive from the desert environment with it tall cactus to the pine covered summit where there is a winter ski area. As the name reflects, Summerhaven, near the summit, is a place to escape the summer desert heat.

Mount Lemmon has many picnic areas and we recommend that you bring snacks for along the way. There is a couple of small restaurants near the summit if you wish to have a meal. Since this park is a suburb of Tucson, you can stay in the hotels in that area.
