Sequoia National Park

The giant sequoias have been here for millennium. These redwoods are often older than the dirt that they are growing in. The sequoia only grow high up on the mountain and they have withstood fire and other calamities. You can walk right up to the immense trees but you can't hug them because they are bigger than any tree that you will ever see. But just don't come just for the trees because the scenery is breath taking.

At each of the entrances to the parks are small villages that have other hotels for you to choose from and superior restaurants. If you do not mind traveling more you can stay in Fresno which gives you access to Sequoia, Kings Canyon, and Yosemite National Parks.
