Tioga Pass Road Yosemite National Park

Tioga pass is the eastern entrance to Yosemite. The road, CA 120,  transverses the breadth of the high sierra mountains across Yosemite National Park.  It runs from US 395, near Lee Vining, over Tioga Pass to an eastern entrance to the park.   This route is one of the most outstanding automobile rides anywhere in the world.  You will go through a granite wonderland including:  Tioga Pass at 10,000 ft, Toulumne Meadows, innumerable lakes with Tenaya Lake with most beautiful alpine lake setting anywhere in the world and Olmsted Point.  If you are a hiker,  trek down the Toulumne River past waterfall after waterfall.

At Toulumne Meadows, there is a lodge, restaurant and store. As an alternative you may choose to stay at Yosemite Valley which has many hotels and restaurants. We recommend staying at the Yosemite Lodge however this hotel is often reserved a year in advance For dinner, we recommend dining the Ahwahnee.
