Tombstone

Tombstone is the site of the shootout at the OK Corral. The town has been in part preserved and in part has become a tourist mecca where the shootout is reenacted multiple times a day. Tombstone is an old mining town but you can not call it a ghost town since it is a thriving community with saloons and shopping galore. Some original builds remain and many have been restored for the visitor's pleasure.

There are a series of hotels and restaurants in Tombstone. You have got to have a sapodilla as you visit the main street filled with shops and museums. As an alternative, many stay in Tucson which is about an hour and a half away.
